we are
FIPSed is the Fresh Water International Sport Fishing Federation (abbreviation for Fédération Internationale de Peche Sportive en Eau Douche), founded on July 15th 1972 in Prague and shall aim to encourage the practice of fresh water sport fishing throughout the world and shall do so in collaboration with all CIPS members.
It is the fresh water fishing arm of CIPS, the World regulating body for competitive fishing in all disciplines, consists of three International Sport Federations. In order to achieve this purpose, the Federation shall also collaborate with National Organisations, which are not members of CIPS.
FIPSed shall also aim, within the Olympic ideal, to foster friendship and understanding among all people, and peace in the world, through sport. In pursuing these goals FIPSed shall maintain friendly relationship with all other world organisations sharing this ideal and collaborate with them.
The evolution of fishing techniques and equipment has led over the years to the development of multiple specialties: Coarse Fishing, Feeder, Trout with natural baits, Trout Area, Predators by bank, Predators by boat, Street Fishing, Carp fishing, Bass Fishing, Kayak Fishing, Ice Fishing. These are the freshwater fishing disciplines in which competitors from all over the world compete for the various continental and world titles.
